Weekend break

Went up to Glenorcy on a mini adventure with Roz and Q. Stayed in Roz's mums caravan that is kept up there it was amazing had a power shower and a dishwasher, so no really slumming it! boys went fishing and the girls read and sunbathed. did a bit of 4X4 offroading and managed to dirty the truck and lose some bits of the wheels oh no!Visited a place called Paradise and passed the set to the new Narnia film and saw all the big trailors and caravans. They were also planting hundreds of lupins at the side of the woods as i guess it was ment to be spring in the movie because there were no flowers like that anywhere else! The boys didn't catch any fish, bit dissapointing as the area is know n for the best salmon fishing in NZ, but a man did just lend them his boat while they were stood at the side of the lake. Had a couple of BBQ's and scoffed lots of burgers, corn and sausages (snags over here). Well the sun shone the whole weekend and it was beautifully hot.

Panning for gold

Went panning for gold in the arrowtown river last weekend, was a beautiful day but no gold found boo!a man last month found a nugget worth $30,000 so james was quite enthusisatic!

Our Truck

Well if you have spoken to James i'm sure he has already told you!we have just bought a new (well new to us!) truck! A hilux surf (i think!) Its James's pride and joy and is definatly his car from now. It is pretty nice and even has a step to get up into the cab! Our other car (the pimp) as definatly died a slow death now and thought we would get a truck all ready for the snow. Ski season passes have been relaesed this week, they do a local pass for $650 for unlimted use throughout the season (about £230) so not bad. At the mo are trying to save up to buy our 2. Think James bro and mate is coming out here and possibly living with us- what am i letting myself in for!Well we will just see how it goes, 3 boys and me could be a reciepe for disaster!
Well off to work in the sunshine

Hot and sunny

Well heard about all the snow and freezing conditions in England at the mo, so just thought you would like to hear how beautiful and sunny it is hear! We all had Tuesday of this week as its New Zealand day (like a bank holiday) it was the hottest day we have had hear and went down to the lake for a swim (well of course i didn't go in, far too many weeds!but James did!)had a BBQ and relaxed in the sun.
My nannying family came back from Christchurch this week. Met the new little baby, Oh my God newborns are so tiny! , she looks so fragile and mini!Seen the reality of a baby from the inside of a family and has definatly put me off for life, also heard the horror stories of the birth in all the grusome details OOWWW!!!No not for me think i will just carry on playing 'mum' for a couple of days a week thank you very much!seems like a much better and considerably easier optition!
Well hope you are all tucked up warm and safe inside and have built a snowman!

Alison Visited!

Well Ally has left now :( not very happy about that. But we did have an amazing time while she was here. we managed to fit in Gondala trips, luging, skydiving, Horse trekking, jet boating, mini golf, bunjy jumping and eating lots of cakes and definatly lots of shopping on her part! (she had overweight luggage on her return!that girl knows how to shop!)
The weather was ok most of the time but a couple of days it just poured with rain and we were slightly limited what to do as most things in queenstown are outdoors.
She managed to conquor her fear of heights by doing both a sky dive and a bunjy on consequtive days! She tantum bunjyied with James and i nervously watched from the side, they both loved it and got dunked in the water at the bottom. They decided to do it at the Kawaru bridge , the first ever bunjy site in the world, so it was pretty cool. But i was very sad yesterday when she left,it was even worse than being over here on our own, because we had almost forgot what its like having family around and just got back to it when she had to leave 1 WEEK IS NOT ENOUGH!!! Sometimes it is crap living on the other side of the planet!
Well will post a few of the photos and then have to get to work (to try and pay some of this off!!!)
