Well another brilliant weekend. The sun was out all last week and still at the wekend. Its so hot in the sun but not muggy you just get burned!went out friday night after picking james up from work. They had loads of crates of beer at the site because they have got the roof on the building they are working on !?!(bit strange but free beer and loads of pizza's so no complaints)then went into town with some work friends.
Saturday we were invited to a BBQ at someone i work withs house, went round expecting a sausage and burger but no there was half a lamb, fresh fish
and loads of other amazing food (they take their BBQ seriously!)loads of drink and a really good night managed to head back into town with a gang and fortunatly one was the guy who owns some bars in town so drank even more their too! Yesterday we kind of recovered!then went to fetch the car and sat in the sun with a jug of beer and watched the cricket it was very chilled and relaxed, then picked up pizza's so didn't have to cook!bonus!
The weekends here feel so long and everything is very chilled. There seems to be no rush for anything and ewverything is at a much slower pace, which is lovely. No time is wasted getting from one place to the next because
a)there is no traffic, no queues, no traffic lights to wait at
b) there is no where to go to!other than the supermarket (10mins) fishing spot (15mins) town (3mins)
so don't know how we are going to cope when we leave and are faced with traffic jams, cars and lots of people!
Residancy stuff for Oz is all going through ok, just keep sending the migration company cheques and bits of information, not sure how long that will take to come through.
One of my best friends from home comes out on Saturday after travelling around OZ for nearly a year and she will stay with her boyfriend for a week over christmas (so excited!)
We can't decide whether to have a traditional christmas turkey or to have a BBQ at teh lake side, but we better make up our minds soon as we need to get the food.
Still not feeling very christmassy (james loves it) no rush in the shops or queues at the supermarket so it just doesn't feel the same!
Got presents you guys have sent over currently sat round a yellow bucket in the lounge all ready for the xmas tree to go in but not found one we like (well thats a lie actually we found one in the man opposites garden but not plucked up enough courage to go and chop it down in the night yet!)
Still planning on heading down to the Catlins for a few days between chriatmas and New year and think we are going to camp, loads of poeple have lent us all the bits and bats we need and got a map of all the campsites some are right on the beach!just really need it not to rain!can't wait to see teh sealions, penguins and dolphins. Its ment to be one of the nicest places in NZ and completely unspoilt!so we will see lets hope so.
well posted a couple of pictures of 'Sydney' the dog of one of the families i nanny for. Got to go to work now but yeh only 8 days till christmas!!!
